The newest addition to the rattery is SRR Pierre who came all the way from Missouri to join the rattery. Pierre is the son of SRR/LMR A' La Mode (male russian silver dumbo carrier) and TEK Carolina Moon (female black dumbo rex). He has some wonderful ancestors on both side of his pedigree.
This boy has nice deep rexing which just inspires everyone to flop him all around like a rag doll while scritching him all over. He has a good combination of color, rexing, and temperament that should be an asset to the Russian blue program here.
Pierre is still in quarantine but will be a part of the colony soon.
While in quarantine at the shop the rats get to free roam for most of the days on the 4 x 8 carpeted table that I have there. Pierres name tag is on his cage. We always make sure that any rat at the shop is identified by name as well as by temperament. This way the friendly rats are handled and the occasional unfriendly rescue doesn't nip anyone.
